Last Friday, September 6th, our colleague Andrés Bustillo has given the closing Guest Lecture of the XR Salento 2024 congress in the Italian city of Lecce titled: “Machine Learning integration in Virtual Reality environments: present and prospective future”, where he has presented the exciting future of the use of Machine Learning techniques in Virtual Reality environments to achieve its adaptation in real time to the situation and knowledge of the user. In particular, in this invited lecture he presented the results of the use of DE Transfer Learning algorithms to this industrial task, a result that is part of the HumanAID and REMAR projects in which the XRAI-LAB group participates
Our colleague Bruno Rodríguez García has presented at same congress the article “A tool for the analysis and Virtual Reality visualization of the virtual restoration of Cultural Heritage 3D models”. This research presents a software to implement discrepancy analysis of 3D models in Blender software and export its results as heat maps compatible with other development engines and technologies such as Virtual Reality. It is designed for use in virtual restoration processes of cultural heritage, although it is also compatible with other similar work processes.
