Bruno Rodríguez García, Henar Guillén Sanz, and Inés Miguel Alonso, from the Area of Languages and Computer Systems at the University of Burgos, have been awarded the Third Prize in the eighth edition of the Scientific Outreach Article Contest, an initiative organized by the Unit for Scientific Culture and Innovation (UCC+I) of the University of Burgos, with the support of the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT) – Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities.

Their work, titled “3D Modeling and Virtual Reality: How to see what we couldn’t imagine before”, was praised by the jury for its clarity in science communication and its ability to bring technical concepts such as the creation of 3D objects and their multiple applications, from video games to medical uses, closer to all audiences.

A total of 27 original articles were submitted by members of the university community. Of these, three were awarded prizes and six more were selected as finalists, in an edition that stood out for its high quality.

During the ceremony, held in the assembly hall of the Faculty of Sciences, the awarded authors briefly presented their works to the audience, expressing in their own words the importance of science outreach and the role it plays in today’s society.

All the articles, including the winners and finalists, have been published on the blog UBUinvestiga.  You can read the full article here.

With this initiative, the University of Burgos strengthens its commitment to the dissemination of knowledge and the promotion of scientific vocations, recognizing the effort of researchers and students to make science accessible and understandable for everyone.
