The research group ADMIRABLE (Advanced Data MIning Research And Business intelligence | Bioinformatics | Big Data LEarning) of the University of Burgos has closely collaborated with student Fiorella Mendoza Rua, from the Degree in Audiovisual Communication, in the development of an innovative scientific dissemination project focused on Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The work, titled “Creation of videos using 2D Animation techniques for the dissemination of basic concepts of Artificial Intelligence: Decision Trees and Rotation Forest”, has resulted in the production of two animated videos designed to bring complex machine learning concepts closer to non-specialist audiences.
One of the videos is aimed at children between 7 and 8 years old, to whom the concept of decision trees is explained using simple, visual, and playfully narrative language. The second video is aimed at a general audience, addressing in an accessible way the functioning of the Rotation Forest algorithm, an advanced classification technique used in Big Data contexts.

This initiative, promoted by ADMIRABLE, is part of its strategic actions in digital literacy and knowledge transfer, opting for audiovisual formats with high communicative impact. According to the research team, the transdisciplinary collaboration between computer science and audiovisual communication has made it possible to transform technical complexity into understandable and visually attractive narratives.

The student has developed the project using professional tools such as Adobe After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop, Blender, and motion graphics techniques, following a complete workflow: from technical documentation and scriptwriting to animation, postproduction, and subtitling in various languages. In addition, special attention was given to aesthetics, the design of the main character, and the adaptation of content to the cognitive level of different audiences.

With this project, ADMIRABLE reinforces its commitment to the responsible dissemination of AI, promoting a positive, understandable, and approachable image of these technologies. The videos will soon be available on the group’s institutional platforms.
